Katerina Papadopoulou is a media, theater, and concert music composer, from Athens, Greece. She started piano lessons at the age of six, and later had been a choir singer for years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Musicology specialized in music acoustics and sound technology, from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She also holds Advanced Music Theory diplomas from Greek conservatories, and she has taken acting and voice acting classes in the Theater of Changes drama school. Her passion to compose music for the screen led her to pursue, as a Fulbright scholar, an M.F.A. in Film Music Composition from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts under the guidance of Chris Heckman.

So far, she has composed music for short films οf various genres, theater and Musical theater, documentaries, choreographies, and other projects such as composing music for the Northern Ireland Hospice Sonic Gardens research project at the Sonic Arts Research Center. She has worked both as a composer and performer participating in festivals and venues including the Heraklion Cultural Center’s Video art and film festival, the Festival of the Aegean, and the Athens Megaron Concert Hall.
